i couldn’t agree more with snewoeel. i have been a cardinals fan all my life. he has a great arm, from being a pitcher, has ok speed, trys for every ball no matter where its at, gives up his body for catches, and learned from one of the best defensive center fielders in history, jimmy edmonds.

I’ve had a chance to watch Rick Ankiel’s development as an outfielder ever since he made the switch from pitcher, and he is tremendous defensively. He may have the best outfield arm in the game and he gets to almost every ball. He learned from Jim Edmonds who is one of the best center fielders of all time. If Ankiel can stay healthy for a full season, he should have no problem winning a gold glove. Royal fans should be impressed with his defense.
