I hope they don’t expand, but if they do they really need to get this salary floor in place due to the fact we have so many non competitive teams already. Spreading the talent out more will not help the quality of the game either.

I think that they may go to 31 but 32 seems like a stretch

I think MLB WILL expand to 32 teams, but not for a while. If it remains popular, then maybe around 2025-2030. They won’t put one in Puerto Rico, though, sorry.

Why would you want to open an expansion in Puerto Rico when there are so many cities in America that would be willing to support a baseball team?

I like the idea because baseball is considered Americas best pass time. But I do not agree bringing a team to another country where there are so many cities and supporters who would gladly start and own a team, like Oklahoma City.

No, more teams will further dillute the pitching.

There’s not enough pitching to go around now. The economy won’t support more teams. Therefore, no.

Chipmaker March 11, 2010 at 3:10 am

Yes — but that is at least ten years out, probably more.

I don’t like the divisions being redone..
And we don’t need anymore Sox.
And I think we could put a new team in a better place than Portland.

And how does Colorado end up in the North? And Kansas City in the south?
If you’re going to do that, you probably need to switch some teams in the AL and NL around.

No,not in this economy, but maybe in another 25 years.

I can see it happening. However i can’t see it in Portland and Puerto Rico. It would be in one of the Carolinas or out west. It would happen in 10 years.

dhv303 March 11, 2010 at 3:10 am

not any time soon, they are actually very likely to retract a couple teams

RoxFan March 11, 2010 at 3:10 am

I hope they don’t, though this is a pretty clever arrangement you have here.

I like the NL North, the Rockies could get some serious playoff time with that competition :D

reditz84 March 11, 2010 at 3:10 am

baseball could decide to expand to 32 teams in the future but not right now and they definitely would not put a team in Puerto Rico because think about if all the teams are in America why would u put one outside of America because than plane costs would rise a lot

brendan y. March 11, 2010 at 3:10 am

nope sorry. if anything they’ll probably take away a couple teams before expanding. and if they do expand, expect to see a team in las vegas before portland and the p.r. but i like your idea of realigning the divisions

Eddie March 11, 2010 at 3:10 am

i like it..but the expansion teams are not right..put one in north carolina and one in Iowa

Rock Firestorm March 11, 2010 at 3:10 am

No.

A. Baseball has said it will not expand. They tried to take away two teams only 2 years after the last expansion.

B. PR? You’re joking.

C. the pitching still hasn’t recovered from the last 2 expansions. You won’t see any expansion in your lifetime.

Why is it when people ask this question (daily in here) they always make up a city and name for the "expansion" teams?
