ALDS
New York Yankees (101-61)
vs.
Detroit Tigers (88-74)
De ja vu all over again. The Tigers seeming to shock everyone (in my prediction), with the yankees coming in as the clear favorite. I’ll say the de ja vu continues with the Tigers in 5.
LA Angels (89-73)
vs.
Tampa Bay Rays (95-67)
This one was tough, but I’ve got to go with the Rays. I think the Angels losing K-Rod will come to haunt them here. Rays in 4.
NLDS
New York Mets (100-62)
vs.
Arizona Diamondbacks (82-80)
Easiest one yet. The Mets are an all-around power-house team from Johan Santana to Jose Reyes to David Wright. This team is packed. Mets in a sweep.
Chicago Cubs (95-67)
vs.
Philadelphia Phillies (90-72)
Pretty good series, but I have the Cubs lasting out the Phillies. Cubs in 5.
ALCS
Detroit Tigers (91-76)
vs.
Tampa Bay Rays (98-68)
Fantastic series, but I can’t see the Rays returning in ‘09. They surprised everyone last year, so they got to the world series, before the Phillies came prepared and beat them. The Tigers will come prepared and win this series in 5.
NLCS
New York Mets (103-62)
vs.
Chicago Cubs (98-69)
Best series yet. The Cubs have speed and power in Soriano, consistency in Bradley, and pitching in Zambrono. Only problem? Mets have better speed, better power, better consistency, and better pitching. Mets in 6.
WORLD SERIES
Detroit Tigers (95-77)
vs.
New York Mets (107-64)
This one will be another close but no cigar year for the Tigers. Mets in 6.

You did a pretty good job and well thought out I may add. However, you AL East is just a tad off. It will end Boston, Rays, Yankees, jBlue Jays, Orioles. Everything else you have is dead on.
Except in the world series, the Detroit Tigers will win in six with Gary Shieffield striking out to end the game. Not a knock on the Mets because they will have won their division, conference and they will put up a darn good stab at the world series. It will be grand.
Take that to the bank.
How do you figure the Tigers to win 95 games AND then advance to the World Series with their horrendous pitching?
I don’t know about the AL Central. I don’t think there’s a 22 game spread between the 1st and last place in that division. I also don’t think Detroit will be an 88 win team or go to the playoffs, let alone the World Series! I think the rest of your picks look decent enough…I don’t know, maybe you’re from Detroit? Any team in that division could win it, but I personally like Cleveland.
I don’t like your nl east prediction or the fact that u said the cubs will beat the phils in the playoffs….the mets are gonna choke yet again and yes even with k-rod and putz they still don’t have a 2nd basemen and only have 1 good outfielder the phils will win the nl east by 2 or 3 games and play the red sox in the world series and i smell a repeat.
Flawed. In the NL if two or more teams are tied for the division there has to be a tiebreaker. PLus its coming from a biased opinion (your a tiger fan)
AL East: Red Sox
AL Central: White Sox
AL West: Angels
AL Wild Card: Rays
NL East: Mets
NL Central: Cubs
NL West: Dodgers
NL Wild Card: Phillies
World Series: Red Sox over Mets
It looked like you gave a lot of teams winning records so I checked your numbers and notice you have a total of 2468 wins and 2392 losses. Those numbers should each be 2430 so you have to get rid of 38 wins and create 38 more losses.
AL East-I agree with the Yankees but I think Boston will take the WC. I don’t think that division will win that many games though as they’ll be beating up on each other.
AL Central-Tigers will battle the White Sox and Twins for second behind the Indians.
AL West-looks pretty good
NL East-I agree with your order but I think the Mets and Phillies will be closer than 10 games.
NL Central-Reds won’t finish last and Cardinals will come in second. Brewers and Astros won’t win as many games as you think.
NL West-Too many wins for Colorado and San Diego.
My prediction for the World Series would be the Yankees vs the Mets or Cubs even though I’d like to see Cleveland in it.
I have no problem with your AL EAST and AL CENTRAL picks. I believe that The Yankees are going to cruise into the playoffs, with the Rays finishing 2nd, Boston 3rd, Blue Jays 4th, and Baltimore 5th. I think Detroit finishes 1st, Minnestoa 2nd, Cleveland 3rd, White Sox 4th, and Kansas City 5th.
I think Oakland wins the AL WEST with a banged up Angels pitching staff
NL EAST – Mets
NL Central – Cubs
NL WEST – Dodgers
NL Wild Card – Phillies
New York over Oakland in 4 games
Detroit over Tampa in 5 games
New York over Los Angeles in 3 games
Philly over Chicago in 5 games
New York over Detroit in 6 games
New York over Philly in 7 games
Subway Series : Yankees over Mets in 7 with Derek Jeter being Mr. November and hitting a game winning HR in the bottom of the 9th inning for number 27.
Go Yankees
looking good.
That seems about right? P.S. How is your fantasy baseball team coming mine is doing terrible.
